Perched on the side of a mountain between the Gornergrat and Rothorn at 2’300m above sea level, the Grünsee Mountain Lodge offers a world-class alpine mountain experience with a view of the Matterhorn. Its location guarantees pristine snow for skiers with access to Freeride Paradise Gornergrat, Hohtälli and Stockhorn.
Zermatt is car-free. The shuttle train from the car park in Täsch runs to Zermatt every 20 minutes.
Once you arrive in Zermatt, you have two options for reaching us:
Either take the Gornergratbahn to Riffelalp station (preferred route) and walk to us from there in about 45 minutes, or take the Sunnegga Bahn (longer route) and then walk for around 60 minutes to our hut.
Both hiking trails are classified as easy. Please note, however, that we are situated at a certain altitude – inexperienced hikers should therefore allow a little more time. The impressive natural surroundings of our mountain hut make every little climb absolutely worthwhile, though.
We also ask you to check the timetables for the Gornergratbahn and the Sunnegga Railway.
